Data centre investments will drive the development of supporting infrastructure, including power, fibre connectivity, utilities, logistics and commercial facilities, creating a wider ecosystem of businesses and employment opportunities, the report revealed.
The report projects demand for 2.33 crore sq. ft. of residential real estate in and around Visakhapatnam as the city attracts professionals and businesses linked to the expanding digital economy.
Commercial spaces, warehouses, retail centres and civic infrastructure are also expected to witness significant growth, the report stated.
Square Yards said data centres were emerging as a major driver of urban growth in India and noted that Visakhapatnam was well positioned to become a leading digital infrastructure hub, supported by large-scale investments and an expanding ancillary ecosystem.
