AP Records over six-fold rise in FDI under TDP government : Centre

Amaravati (Andhra Pradesh), Aug. 6 (TNT): Andhra Pradesh recorded a more than six-fold increase in Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) under the TDP government led by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, according to data furnished by the Union Government in Parliament.

Replying to a question by YSRCP MP Maddila Gurumoorthy in the Lok Sabha, the Centre said Andhra Pradesh received FDI worth USD 608.59 million in 2025-26, compared to USD 92.13 million in 2023-24, the last full financial year of the previous YSRCP government.

The data showed FDI inflows rising from USD 92.13 million in 2023-24 to USD 233.14 million in 2024-25 before increasing to USD 608.59 million in 2025-26.

According to the figures, major investments during 2025-26 were made in metallurgical industries, food processing, cement and gypsum products, services, automobiles, chemicals, electrical equipment and electronics.

The Centre also highlighted several initiatives to promote investments, including the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) schemes, the Semicon India Programme and the BioE3 initiative aimed at boosting manufacturing, innovation and research.
