Telangana govt beings porcess for construction of one Lakh houses in Hyderabad

Hyderabad, May 27 (TNT): The Telangana Government has initiated the process for construction of one lakh houses in Hyderabad as part of its housing programme for economically weaker sections and low-income groups.

Speaking after inspecting proposed housing sites in the Nampally, Malakpet and Bahadurpura Assembly constituencies along with Minister Mohammed Azharuddin and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi, State Housing Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy said the government was taking concrete steps towards fulfilling the dream of home ownership for poor families in the city.

He said the government had decided to take up construction of one lakh houses in the first phase of the programme.

Earlier, the leaders also inspected several dilapidated government structures located in Kulsumapura, Afzal Sagar, Kaladera and Gaddiannaram areas as part of the preliminary assessment for the housing initiative.

According to officials, the government plans to construct Low-Income Group (LIG) housing units across 24 Assembly constituencies in Hyderabad under a phased programme.

Officials said the initiative aims to provide affordable housing infrastructure to economically weaker sections while improving living conditions in densely populated urban areas.
