Telangana decides to extend Working Hours at Sub-Registrar Offices amid Surge in Property Registrations
Hyderabad, May 27 (TNT): The Telangana Government on Wednesday decided to extend working hours at Sub-Registrar offices across the State following a sharp rise in property registration demand after the Cabinet’s decision to rationalise land values in line with prevailing market prices.
According to State Revenue, Housing and Information & Public Relations Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy, all Sub-Registrar offices would function from 9:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. between May 29 and June 3 to facilitate registrations and avoid inconvenience to the public.
The Minister directed officials to ensure that people visiting registration offices do not face long waiting hours and instructed authorities to make all necessary arrangements for smooth service delivery.
“The government’s objective is to serve the people. Speed, transparency and convenience in the registration process are our three main priorities,” Ponguleti said.
Keeping the increased public demand in view, the Minister also instructed officials to increase the number of slot bookings available for registrations.
He said the government was prepared to further extend working hours and add additional working days if registration demand continues to rise.
The Minister also stressed the need for better coordination with Tahsildar offices handling agricultural land registrations to ensure there are no delays in service delivery.
Special instructions were issued to State Registrations Inspector General Rajiv Gandhi Hanumanthu to ensure citizens receive fast, transparent and hassle-free registration services across the State.
