Telangana DGP calls for Database of Foreign Domestic Workers
Hyderabad, June 8 (TNT): Telangana Director General of Police C.V. Anand on Monday expressed concern over recent incidents involving foreign nationals, particularly Nepalese domestic workers allegedly linked to criminal activities.
He instructed officials to compile a comprehensive database of domestic workers from Nepal and other countries residing in the state, including details of their residence and employment, to facilitate better monitoring and security.
He also directed officials to prepare comprehensive plans for the reorganization of police circles, zones and village jurisdictions to improve administrative efficiency and operational effectiveness across the state.
Chairing a high-level review meeting with senior police officers, the DGP The meeting marked the revival of the Staff Officers Meeting, a fortnightly coordination forum for senior officers at the DGP Office and heads of various police wings.
The practice had fallen into disuse in recent years, resulting in coordination gaps across departments, officials said.
During the meeting, Anand reviewed a range of issues, including jurisdictional reorganization, technology-driven policing, implementation of CCTNS 2.0, adoption of artificial intelligence (AI), drone technology, data intelligence systems and modernization of policing processes.
A detailed review was conducted on the reorganization of police jurisdictions under the Hyderabad, Cyberabad, Malkajgiri and Future City Commissionerates, including police station limits and border village divisions.
The DGP also reviewed progress under the Crime and Criminal Tracking Network and Systems (CCTNS) 2.0 initiative and emphasized the need to strengthen digital policing infrastructure.
Officials tentatively decided to organize a Police Retreat in November and a Women Police Conference in October 2026.
To improve gender representation and working conditions, Anand directed officers to ensure effective implementation of the 33 per cent reservation policy for women police personnel and create greater opportunities for women officers in law and order duties and field-level policing assignments.
Highlighting the growing role of technology in law enforcement, the DGP stressed wider adoption of digital policing tools, including TG Cops applications and real-time information systems.
“Technology can significantly improve policing efficiency by enabling quicker access to information related to Dial-100 responses, rowdy sheeters, vehicle searches, anti-social elements and offender databases,” he said.
He instructed officers to focus on AI-based policing, drone applications, Human Resource Management Systems (HRMS), data intelligence platforms and smart policing applications under the vision of “Telangana Smart Policing – Using Technology.”
The meeting also reviewed manpower management, vehicle audits, personnel deployment and traffic management systems.
Discussions were held on strengthening institutional mechanisms for traffic management, road safety, food adulteration control and other specialized policing functions.
