SCR Detects 606 Littering, Spitting Cases During Special Drive
Hyderabad, Aug. 6 (TNT): The Secunderabad Division of South Central Railway (SCR) detected 606 cases of littering and spitting during a 20-day special anti-littering drive conducted across major railway stations and onboard trains in the division.
The special drive was conducted from July 17 to August 5 as part of SCR’s efforts to maintain clean, hygienic and passenger-friendly railway stations and trains, a release said here on Thursday.
During the drive, offenders were penalised under the relevant provisions of the Railways Act.
The enforcement was carried out by Ticket Checking Staff (TTEs) and Commercial Department officials at Secunderabad, Hyderabad, Begumpet, Lingampalli, Charlapalli, Kazipet, Warangal and Khammam railway stations.
SCR General Manager Sanjay Kumar Srivastava commended the Commercial Department of the Secunderabad Division for successfully conducting the drive and promoting responsible behaviour among rail users.
South Central Railway appealed to passengers to cooperate by using the dustbins provided at railway stations and onboard trains to help maintain clean and pleasant railway premises.
