PM Narendra Modi Performs Mahapuja, Kumbhabhishek at Somnath Temple
Somnath, May 11 (TNT): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday performed Mahapuja and Kumbhabhishek rituals at the Somnath Temple in Gujarat on the occasion marking 75 years since the rebuilt temple opened its doors to devotees.
The Prime Minister described the occasion as one of the most emotional and unforgettable moments of his life and said performing the rituals at the holy shrine filled him with immense spiritual energy and devotion.
In a series of posts on social media platform X, Modi said it was a supreme privilege to perform Mahapuja and Kumbhabhishek at the feet of Mahadev on the sacred land of Somnath.
He said the opportunity to offer prayers while remembering people “in the form of God” had filled his heart with infinite spiritual energy, devotion and Shiva-like consciousness.
The Prime Minister further stated that praying to Mahadev on the special occasion commemorating 75 years of the reconstructed Somnath Temple was an experience he would never forget.
He described the darshan and pujan of Mahadev as a source of boundless spiritual energy.
The visit formed part of the ongoing “Somnath Amrut Mahotsav” celebrations marking the 75th anniversary of the reconstructed temple.
