BJP Telangana Condemns Alleged Harassment of Gau Rakshaks Ahead of Bakrid
Hyderabad, May 17 (TNT): Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Telangana President N.Ramachander Rao , on Sunday alleged that police were harassing Gau Rakshaks and voluntary Gau Sevaks ahead of Bakrid and demanded an immediate halt to what he described as “false cases” against them.
In a press statement , Rao referred to a recent incident at Attapur and alleged that the police were acting under pressure from the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (MIM) while targeting individuals involved in cow protection activities.
He stated that instead of maintaining law and order in a fair and balanced manner, the police appeared to be taking action against those working to protect sentiments associated with cow protection, which he said holds deep spiritual, cultural, and emotional significance for Hindus.
Emphasising that India is a country where all religions have the right to practice their faith with dignity, he said the beliefs and sentiments of every community must be respected equally.
The BJP leader termed it unacceptable that Gau Rakshaks and volunteers were allegedly being treated like criminals and called upon the government and police to ensure that no illegal activities take place while also safeguarding Hindu sentiments.
He demanded that police stop filing what it called false cases against Gau Rakshaks and volunteers and urged authorities to act impartially while maintaining peace and communal harmony.
Rao stated that the BJP would continue to stand firmly in support of Gau Rakshaks, Gau Sevaks, and the protection of Hindu sentiments.
