Apollo Hospitals, Medtronic launch ‘ICU of the Future’ in Hyderabad
Hyderabad, July 16 (TNT): Apollo Hospitals and global healthcare technology company Medtronic on Thursday launched an 11-bed “ICU of the Future” at Apollo Hospitals, Jubilee Hills, aimed at strengthening critical care through advanced patient monitoring technologies and digital healthcare solutions.
The facility, developed in collaboration with Medtronic’s Acute Care and Monitoring (ACM) team, integrates advanced monitoring systems with clinical workflows to support timely interventions and improve patient outcomes.
A memorandum of understanding (MoU) for the initiative was signed by Apollo Hospitals Group Joint Managing Director Dr Sangita Reddy, Apollo HealthAxis Chief Executive Officer Manpreet Singh, and Medtronic India Subcontinent Managing Director and Vice-President Mandeep Singh Kumar during the inauguration ceremony.
Speaking on the occasion, Mandeep Singh Kumar said the collaboration reflects a shared commitment to advancing patient care through technology and clinical innovation. He said the ICU would serve as a platform to generate real-world clinical insights that would help in developing technologies to support healthcare professionals in India and globally.
Dr Sangita Reddy said critical care demands timely decisions and that the partnership would help create intelligent, digitally connected ICUs capable of enabling early detection of patient deterioration and delivering personalised care.
She said the initiative forms part of Apollo Hospitals’ broader strategy of integrating advanced technology with clinical expertise to enhance healthcare outcomes.
Medtronic Vice-President (Research and Development), Acute Care Monitoring, Jason Case, said the digitally enabled ICU would function as a real-world innovation hub, enabling collaboration between clinicians and technology developers to design more connected and efficient critical care solutions.
The inauguration was attended by senior officials from both organisations.
