AP, Google to Set Up Joint Task Force for AI, Cloud and Digital Governance Collaboration

Singapore, June 15 (TNT): The Andhra Pradesh Government and Google have agreed to establish a joint task force to explore and accelerate collaboration in artificial intelligence (AI), cloud computing and digital governance, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu said on Monday.

The decision was taken during a meeting between Naidu and Karan Bhatia, President, google Asia-Pacific Region, on the first day of the Chief Minister’s visit to Singapore.

During the discussions, both sides explored opportunities to position Andhra Pradesh as a major hub for AI, data centres and digital infrastructure.

Naidu invited Google to play a larger role in the state’s digital governance initiatives and sought support from Google Cloud for deploying AI-driven technologies to improve public service delivery.

The Chief Minister said Andhra Pradesh aims to strengthen its Real-Time Governance ecosystem through advanced cloud technologies and AI-powered solutions.

He also proposed expanding AI skilling and cloud certification programmes in partnership with Google Cloud.

Naidu informed the company that the state is establishing AI and Cloud Computing Centres in universities and engineering colleges and sought Google’s support in building a strong innovation ecosystem.

Highlighting Andhra Pradesh’s technology-driven healthcare initiatives, he briefed the Google delegation on the Sanjeevani Project and invited the company to partner in the programme aimed at improving access to healthcare through digital technologies.

The Chief Minister also underscored the state’s focus on renewable energy and green infrastructure, stating that Andhra Pradesh is developing a sustainable energy ecosystem to support data centres and other energy-intensive industries.

Separately, Naidu met Sunil Nambiar, Head of Operations, YCH Logistics Group, to discuss opportunities in logistics infrastructure, supply chain management and industrial development.

The discussions centred on the establishment of a technology-driven Supply Chain City in Andhra Pradesh.

Naidu highlighted the state’s strategic advantages, including its 1,053-km coastline, ports, airports, highways and rail connectivity.

He said the state is implementing measures to reduce logistics costs and improve supply chain efficiency, while also highlighting Andhra Pradesh’s strengths in horticulture and aquaculture sectors.

The Chief Minister invited YCH Logistics Group to explore investment opportunities in the state.

Naidu also met AnaclƔudia Rossbach, Executive Director of UN-habitat and invited UN-Habitat to establish a Centre of Excellence in Andhra Pradesh.

He conveyed the state government’s willingness to allocate land for the proposed facility and sought collaboration in sustainable urban development, university partnerships, integration of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) into urban planning and knowledge-sharing initiatives.

The discussions also covered implementation of the Participatory Slum Upgrading Programme (PSUP), urban planning frameworks for emerging cities and measures to strengthen municipal finances.

State Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister P. Narayana and senior officials attended the meetings.
