Air India Express starts operations from newly inaugurated Bhogapuram airport in Andhra Pradesh

Vizianagaram (Andhra Pradesh) , Aug 17 (TNT): Air India Express on Monday commenced operations from the newly inaugurated Alluri Sitarama Raju International Airport at Bhogapuram in the district in Andhra Pradesh, connecting Visakhapatnam with Hyderabad, Bengaluru and Vijayawada.

The airline commenced its operations with 10 daily flights to the three destinations.

The inaugural flight departed for Bengaluru at 8 am, with ceremonial boarding passes presented to guests on the occasion, Air India Express said in a media note, the airlines said in a release here.

The airline will operate two daily flights each between Visakhapatnam and Hyderabad and between Visakhapatnam and Bengaluru, besides one daily service between Visakhapatnam and Vijayawada.

Additional Bengaluru-Visakhapatnam services will operate on Thursdays and Saturdays.

As per the schedule effective from August 17, flights from Hyderabad to Visakhapatnam will depart at 7 am and 2:35 pm, while flights from Visakhapatnam to Hyderabad will operate at 8:50 am and 4:35 pm.

The Visakhapatnam-Bengaluru services will depart at 8 am and 10:10 pm, while the daily Visakhapatnam-Vijayawada service will depart at 7 pm.

As part of its network expansion, Air India Express will commence daily Tirupati-Hyderabad flights from September 1 and resume daily services on the Hyderabad-Chennai route from the same date.

The airline currently serves 48 domestic and 16 international destinations and operates more than 3,000 weekly flights across India, Southeast Asia and West Asia. Its fleet comprises more than 100 Boeing 737 and Airbus A320 aircraft.
