AP CM Naidu calls for Amendment of Business Rules to Simplify Public Services
Amaravati, May 25 (TNT): Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Monday directed officials to prepare an action plan for amending Business Rules to ensure easier and faster delivery of government services to the public.
Reviewing the functioning of the Real Time Governance Society (RTGS) and implementation of government programmes at the grassroots level during a meeting at the Camp Office, the Chief Minister said technology was now fully accessible and regulations should not become obstacles in providing citizen-centric services.
He stressed that traditional administrative methods should be abandoned and officials must adopt innovative approaches to simplify service delivery.
Chandrababu said the government had earlier decided to revise the Business Rules and instructed officials to prepare a detailed roadmap for implementing the changes.
The Chief Minister stated that officials and field-level staff should not only work for public welfare but also ensure measurable outcomes.
He said performance of officials should be evaluated based on implementation of schemes and public service delivery at the grassroots level.
According to him, efficient officials should be appreciated while those underperforming should be given orientation and guidance.
He also directed officials to utilise services of nodal officers appointed by the Planning Department for every constituency.
Emphasising resolution of revenue-related issues, Chandrababu said the government had promised to resolve revenue disputes within one year and asked officials to focus on pending cases.
He advised officials to adopt a humane approach while handling family disputes leading to revenue conflicts and personally counsel affected families to resolve issues amicably.
The Chief Minister further directed officials to remove difficulties in issuing caste certificates and ensure that people could directly download certificates online without inconvenience.
He also stressed that no negligence should be shown in providing healthcare services across hospitals and instructed all departments to share complete information with the RTGS department.
Each department should appoint a dedicated coordination officer for RTGS-related activities, he said.
Chandrababu also called for establishment of a strong system to prevent cyber frauds.
Chief Secretary Sai Prasad and senior officials from various departments attended the review meeting.
