Centre Ignoring Telangana’s Key Demands, Will Continue Fight: Telangana CM Revanth
Hyderabad, June 6 (UNI): Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Saturday accused the Centre of delaying approvals for several key projects and asserted that his government would continue its fight until Telangana receives its due share of projects, funds and support.
Addressing a public meeting after laying foundation stones for an Integrated Fruit Market and a Sub-Registrar Office Complex at Koheda in Abdullapurmet mandal of Ranga Reddy district, the Chief Minister said the state government had repeatedly urged the Centre to approve the Hyderabad Metro Rail expansion project, grant national project status to the Palamuru-Rangareddy Lift Irrigation Scheme, and provide support for the proposed airports at Adilabad and Nizamabad.
Alleging that these requests were yet to receive a positive response, Revanth Reddy said Telangana would continue to press for its legitimate demands.
The Chief Minister also raised the issue of paddy procurement and urged the Centre to continue procurement operations beyond June 15 to safeguard farmers’ interests.
Claiming that Telangana had produced around 1.40 crore metric tonnes of paddy, he said the state government was committed to ensuring procurement of every grain harvested by farmers.
Targeting Union Ministers G. Kishan Reddy and Bandi Sanjay Kumar, Revanth Reddy alleged that instead of assisting the state in securing approvals for pending projects, they were making political statements.
Stating that his government was maintaining cordial relations with the Centre, the Chief Minister said it would simultaneously continue to fight for Telangana’s rights and developmental interests.
“We will continue our efforts until Telangana receives the approvals, projects and financial assistance it deserves,” he said.
Revanth Reddy also reiterated his resolve to oppose anyone whom he believes is obstructing the state’s development and welfare initiatives.
