National Development Possible Only Through Central Welfare Schemes, Patriotism: Telangana BJP Prez

Hyderabad, July 26 (TNT): Telangana BJP President N Ramchander Rao on Sunday asserted that national development was possible only through the effective implementation of the Central government’s welfare schemes and by fostering patriotism among citizens.

Addressing a programme organised by the BJP Doctors’ Cell at KMIT, Narayanguda here, Rao said doctors render invaluable service not only to individuals but also to society and the nation.

He said the Centre, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, was investing thousands of crores of rupees through the National Health Mission (NHM), with the Union government bearing a major share of expenditure on medicines, medical equipment and staff salaries in district hospitals, community health centres and Basti Davakhanas.

Rao credited the Prime Minister’s encouragement for enabling Bharat Biotech to develop an indigenous COVID-19 vaccine during the pandemic.

He said the Swachh Bharat Mission had laid the foundation for a healthier India, while initiatives such as Khelo India and International Yoga Day had significantly enhanced public awareness on health and fitness.

He urged people not to rely on unverified medical advice circulating on social media platforms such as WhatsApp and Instagram, and advised them to seek guidance only from qualified medical practitioners.

Earlier, on the occasion of Kargil Vijay Diwas, Rao visited the War Memorial at Parade Grounds in Secunderabad and paid tributes to the soldiers who laid down their lives during the 1999 Kargil conflict.

Describing Kargil Vijay Diwas as a symbol of the Indian Army’s unmatched courage, valour and commitment to the nation, he said the sacrifices of the martyrs would continue to inspire patriotism and national service among future generations.

Former Chairman of the One Rank-One Pension (OROP) Commission, L Narasimha Reddy, who also attended the programme, said the resolution of long-pending pension issues of armed forces personnel during his tenure was a historic decision.

He said the sacrifices of soldiers guarding the nation’s borders would remain a lasting inspiration for the country’s youth.
