KLH students win AI-ML category at Global Codeverse 2026

Hyderabad, Sept 15 (TNT): Two students of KLH Aziznagar have won the first prize in the Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning category at Global Codeverse 2026, a 24-hour national-level hackathon.

The team, HackHERS, comprising second-year B.Tech Computer Science and Engineering students Yedla Akshaya and Thirunagari Varsha, received a cash prize of Rs 15,000.

The students developed Krishi-Netra, a Telugu voice-enabled AI platform designed to help smallholder farmers assess crop health and receive risk advisories.

The platform uses crop images, crop-stage information, weather conditions and farmer-reported symptoms to assess risks and suggest appropriate action.

It also provides voice input and read-aloud support in Hindi and multiple Indian languages.

Krishi-Netra incorporates AI, computer vision and contextual reasoning and follows a cycle of crop assessment, verification, action and re-scanning for continuous monitoring.

The hackathon was organised by the Global Institute of Engineering and Technology, Hyderabad, KLH Aziznagar Principal Dr A Ramakrishna said.

KLH Vice-President Er Koneru Lakshman Havish congratulated the students and said the project demonstrated the use of emerging technologies to address challenges faced by farming communities.
