Telangana Governor Visits Samatha Murthy Spiritual Centre at Muchintal
Hyderabad, Aug. 6 (TNT): Telangana Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla on Thursday visited the Sri Samatha Murthy Spiritual Centre at Muchintal , outskirts of Hyderabad and described it as a symbol of harmony, equality and spiritual awakening that carries forward the universal message of Jagadacharya Bhagavad Ramanujacharya.
Accompanied by his wife Janaki Shukla, the Governor offered prayers at the 216-foot Panchaloha Statue of Equality dedicated to Bhagavad Ramanujacharya and later visited the 108 Divya Desams, where he was briefed on their spiritual significance.
He also witnessed the Harathi ceremony and offered prayers at the sanctum of Sri Vaikuntha Nath Bhagavan.
The Governor later met Tridandi Srimannarayana Ramanuja Chinna Jeeyar Swamiji, who explained the philosophy and life of Bhagavad Ramanujacharya, the vision behind the Samatha Murthy Spiritual Centre and its various humanitarian and service initiatives.
Chinna Jeeyar Swamiji felicitated the Governor and his wife with traditional shawls and presented them with a replica of the Samatha Murthy, books on Bhagavad Ramanujacharya and his life, Satya Sankalpam and other publications.
The Governor presented a memento to the seer.
Speaking on the occasion, Shukla said the Statue of Equality had emerged as one of the country’s prominent spiritual landmarks, promoting the ideals of social harmony, compassion and inclusiveness.
He said Ramanujacharya’s teachings, which transcended barriers of caste, language and social divisions through the philosophy of Visishtadvaita, continued to inspire society even today.
The Governor noted that the Acharya’s message of equal access to worship and the welfare of society remained relevant in the present times.
In the visitors’ book, the Governor described the visit as a deeply spiritual experience and congratulated Chinna Jeeyar Swamiji and his team for creating the spiritual centre.
