UP CM Yogi Directs Deployment of 110 Electric Buses for Jewar Airport Connectivity
Lucknow, May 28 (TNT): Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed officials to ensure deployment of 110 electric buses in the initial phase to provide connectivity to the upcoming Noida International Airport ahead of its proposed operations from June 15.
Chairing the fourth meeting of the State Transformation Commission at his official rersidence here on Wednesday,, the Chief Minister reviewed progress relating to operation of 500 electric buses in Noida, Greater Noida and the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) region.
“The public transport system should be fully strengthened before the proposed flight operations begin,” Yogi Adityanath said during the review meeting.
The Chief Minister also directed officials to accelerate expansion of electric vehicle charging infrastructure across the State.
Officials informed the meeting that around 15.5 lakh electric vehicles are currently registered in Uttar Pradesh and a target has been set to establish 10,000 EV charging stations by 2030.
About 2,500 charging stations have already become operational, the Officials added.
