Two Singareni Employees Arrested in ACB Probe into Medical Board Irregularities

Hyderabad, June 6 (TNT): The Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) on Saturday said two of its employees have been arrested by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) in connection with alleged irregularities in Medical Board assessments conducted for dependent and compassionate appointments.

In a statement, SCCL said allegations had surfaced regarding large-scale irregularities in the Medical Board process, with certain middlemen allegedly exploiting workers and collecting money by promising employment opportunities.

To ensure transparency and curb malpractice, SCCL management lodged a formal complaint with the ACB seeking a comprehensive investigation into the allegations.

During the course of the investigation, the ACB arrested two employees allegedly involved in the irregularities. The company said departmental action had also been initiated against the arrested personnel.

According to SCCL, the ACB investigation is continuing, while the company’s Vigilance Department is simultaneously conducting a departmental inquiry into the allegations and related irregularities.

The company reiterated its commitment to maintaining transparency and integrity in compassionate and dependent appointment processes and said strict action would be taken against those found responsible.

SCCL said the measures were aimed at preventing exploitation of workers and ensuring that appointments are made strictly in accordance with established rules and procedures.
