Tiranga Ahimsa Car Rally to be held in Hyderabad on October 2
Hyderabad, Sept. 29 (TNT): A Tiranga Ahimsa Car Rally featuring more than 200 cars and over 1,200 participants will be held in Hyderabad on October 2 to mark Gandhi Jayanti, the birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri and Jain monk Acharya Gyanchandra Ji Maharaj, besides the United Nations’ International Day of Non-Violence.
Organised by Shri Vardhaman Sthanakvasi Jain Shravak Sangh, Greater Hyderabad–Kachiguda, the 23-km rally aims to promote peace, non-violence, religious harmony and national unity.
The rally will begin at 6.30 am from Jal Vihar on Necklace Road and pass through the Secretariat, Tank Bund, Ranigunj, Paradise, Begumpet, Somajiguda, Raj Bhavan Road, Khairatabad and Lakdi-ka-pul before returning to Jal Vihar for the closing ceremony at 9.30 am.
The organisers have invited Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy to attend as the chief guest and flag off the rally.
The rally will be conducted as a disciplined convoy rather than a race, with vehicles maintaining their assigned sequence and travelling at a speed of around 10–20 kmph.
Participating vehicles will carry the Indian Tricolour and the Jain religious flag, while patriotic music will be played along the route.
Participants will carry placards with messages such as “Live and Let Live”, “Love All, Hate None”, “Bhai Charay”, “Jal Hai To Kal Hai” and “Swachh Bharat”, highlighting peace, environmental awareness, responsible citizenship and national integration.
As part of an inclusive initiative, orphaned children will be invited to experience rides in luxury and vintage cars participating in the rally.
The organisers have appealed to non-governmental organisations working with orphaned children to nominate participants for the initiative.
The organisers said safety measures would include verification of driving licences and vehicle insurance, along with an ambulance accompanying the convoy.
Participants would be instructed to follow traffic rules and ensure that emergency vehicles were not obstructed.
There is no participation fee for the rally.
Decorated vehicles will compete for prizes, with cash awards of ₹5,000, ₹3,000 and ₹2,000 for the first three places, respectively, along with seven consolation prizes of ₹1,500 each.
The initiative is coordinated by chief conveners Manoj Kothari, Dharmendra Nahar, Prashant Kocheta, Anraj Batna, Nemichand Bukhiya, Suresh Gundecha and Prem Kothari.
