Telangana to set up Musi Experience Centre on Necklace Road to showcase riverfront project
Hyderabad, June 27 (TNT): The Telangana government will establish a Musi Experience Centre on Necklace Road in Hyderabad to create public awareness about the proposed Musi Riverfront Development Project, Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy directed during a high-level review meeting.
The proposed centre will showcase the various components and development works planned under the ambitious riverfront project and serve as a platform for receiving suggestions and feedback from the public.
Reviewing the project’s progress along with Housing Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy here on Friday evening, the Chief Minister directed officials to expedite implementation of the first phase while ensuring proper rehabilitation and resettlement of affected families.
He instructed officials to allot double-bedroom houses to families residing within the Musi riverbed under the rehabilitation programme.
The Chief Minister also directed that landowners willing to part with their land for the project be provided either Transferable Development Rights (TDR) certificates or monetary compensation in accordance with the government’s policy.
Officials were instructed to relocate structures situated on Defence land proposed to be acquired for the Gandhi Sarovar Project.
Revanth Reddy emphasised that the project should be implemented in a time-bound manner while ensuring transparency, public participation and adequate rehabilitation of all affected families.
The meeting was attended by Special Chief Secretary Jayesh Ranjan, Musi Riverfront Development Corporation Limited (MRDCL) Managing Director Narsimha Reddy, Joint Managing Director Gauthami, HMDA Commissioner Sarfaraz Ahmed, CMO Secretary Manik Raj and senior officials of the Municipal Administration Department.
