Telangana Governor says women-led development key to Viksit Bharat

Hyderabad, July 17 (TNT): Telangana Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla on Friday said India has moved beyond the concept of women’s development to embrace “women-led development”, describing it as a key pillar of the country’s journey towards Viksit Bharat.

Addressing the Silver Jubilee celebrations of FICCI Ladies Organisation (FLO) Hyderabad at JRC Convention Centre, the Governor said empowering women strengthens families, boosts economic growth and contributes to nation-building.

Congratulating FLO Hyderabad on completing 25 years, Shukla said the organisation has played a significant role in promoting women entrepreneurship, innovation and leadership.

He noted that with more than 1,200 members, FLO Hyderabad has emerged as a major platform supporting women in business, start-ups and the corporate sector.

The Governor lauded the FLO Industrial Park, describing it as India’s first industrial park wholly owned and managed by women entrepreneurs.

He said the initiative had received appreciation from Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the G20 Summit, reflecting its national significance.

He also praised initiatives such as Style Tatva, which promote Telangana’s handloom and handicrafts while creating sustainable livelihood opportunities for women artisans.

Calling on experienced entrepreneurs to mentor the next generation, the Governor said India needs an ecosystem that enables every aspiring woman entrepreneur to realise her ambitions.

He expressed confidence that FLO Hyderabad would continue to contribute to inclusive economic growth and women’s empowerment.

FICCI President G. Sita Reddy, FLO National President Pooja Garg, women entrepreneurs and other dignitaries attended the event.
