Hyderabad, May 2 (TNT): Telangana Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla on Saturday assured that concerns related to the welfare of ex-servicemen in Telangana would be taken up with the government for appropriate action.
A delegation from the Telangana BJP Ex-Servicemen Cell met the Governor at Lok Bhavan here and submitted a memorandum highlighting key welfare issues concerning Ex-Servicemen (ESM) in the state, the Cell said in a release here.
The delegation was led by Cell Convenor Lieutenant Colonel (Dr.) Sunkara Srinivasa Rao,(Retd) and Co-Convenor Subedar Major Rajender Singh (Retd), Subedar Major PSN Swamy (Retd), (Gen Secretary of ABPSSP Telangana), Subedar Neeraj Dubey (Retd) (Vice President Prant ABPSSP) and Havaldar Dubashi Sagar (Retd) (Vice President ABPSSP, Bhupalaplly Dist).
During the meeting, the delegation raised several important issues, including delay in ex-gratia payments to families of martyrs and gallantry award recipients; Need for establishment of a Sainik Corporation to create employment opportunities for ex-servicemen; Improper utilization of Armed Forces Flag Day funds ; Requirement of an ECHS Polyclinic in LB Nagar/Kanchanbagh area ; Pay disparities among Special Police Officers (SPOs) and Implementation of the High Court orders regarding 30% qualifying marks for ex-servicemen.
Additionally, key demands were presented — Posting of ex-servicemen bank employees near their hometowns, instead of distance postings (200–300 km away), which are causing hardships for their Services – Appointment of eligible ex-servicemen as permanent security personnel in banks – Appointment of qualified ex-servicemen in Regional Sainik Welfare Officer (RSWO/ZSWO) posts instead of civilians – Formation of District Ex-Servicemen Committees under the leadership of District Collectors, as per existing government orders – Establishment of War Memorial at every District of Telangana to honor the sacrifices of martyrs and their dedicated services.
The Governor paid attention on the relevant Issues of ESM and acknowledged that will be soon Taken to notice to the government for non implementation, they are significant and justified concerned to the welfare of ex-servicemen.
He also emphasized for timely and systematic action on these matters.
For further action, the Governor directed ADC, to examine the memorandum in detail and coordinate with the concerned authorities.
The delegation expressed confidence that with the Governor’s intervention, these issues will be addressed effectively, strengthening the welfare and support system for ex-servicemen across the state.
