Telangana extends deadline for CM’s Overseas Scholarship Scheme applications to July 15
Hyderabad, July 2 (TNT): The Telangana Minorities Welfare Department has extended the last date for submitting online applications under the Chief Minister’s Overseas Scholarship Scheme for Minorities (Spring Season-2026) to July 15, 2026 (till 5 pm).
The extension has been granted following a government memo dated May 22, 2026, allowing eligible minority students additional time to apply for the scholarship, the Minorities Department said in a release here on Thursday.
The scheme provides financial assistance of up to ₹20 lakh to minority students pursuing postgraduate, doctoral or Ph.D. programmes at recognised universities in the United States, United Kingdom, Australia, Canada, Singapore, Germany, South Korea, Japan, France and New Zealand.
Beneficiaries are also eligible for reimbursement of a one-way airfare up to ₹60,000 or the actual fare, whichever is lower.
The department said eligible students can submit their applications through the Telangana ePASS portal and advised applicants not to wait until the last date, noting that no further extension would be granted.
Officials said the notification is applicable only to students who secured admissions between January 1, 2026, and June 30, 2026.
Verification of certificates will be carried out subsequently, and criminal action will be initiated if any fictitious certificates are found.
Applicants have also been asked to submit their original graduation or post-graduation transcripts at the concerned District Minorities Welfare Offices, along with the physical presence of their parents during file submission.
