Telangana CM Orders Foolproof Police Recruitment Process; Tight Vigil Against Malpractices
Hyderabad, Aug. 4(TNT): Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Tuesday directed officials to ensure the ongoing recruitment process for 7,437 police posts is conducted in a foolproof, transparent and secure manner.
The directions were issued at an emergency review meeting convened after intelligence agencies reportedly alerted the government to attempts by certain political parties and vested interests to disrupt the recruitment process.
The meeting was attended by Director General of Police (DGP) C.V. Anand, senior police officers and top government officials.
The Chief Minister instructed officials to conduct the recruitment strictly in accordance with the prescribed rules and ensure complete transparency at every stage of the selection process.
He directed officials to maintain strict vigilance over the preparation, printing, transportation and custody of question papers, besides ensuring foolproof security arrangements at all examination centres.
Revanth Reddy also ordered special surveillance on coaching centres during the recruitment process to prevent any irregularities.
Expressing concern over the possible spread of misinformation, the Chief Minister directed officials to closely monitor social media and other digital platforms and take immediate action against false propaganda related to the recruitment examinations.
He instructed the Cyber Crime Wing to keep a close watch on fraudsters promising government jobs, fake recruitment websites and misleading social media accounts.
The Cyber Security and Intelligence wings were also directed to remain on high alert until the recruitment process is completed.
Among those present at the meeting were Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister V. Sheshadri, ome Department Principal Secretary Shikha Goel, Telangana State Police Recruitment Board Chairman V.V. Srinivasa Rao, Hyderabad Police Commissioner V.C. Sajjanar and other senior officials.
