Telangana bans manufacture, sale of analogue paneer for one year

Hyderabad, Sept 13 (TNT): The Telangana government has prohibited the manufacture, processing, packing, storage, distribution and sale of non-dairy/artificial/analogue paneer across the state for one year with immediate effect from September 10, 2026.

The order was issued by the Commissioner of Food Safety, Telangana, under clause (a) of sub-section (2) of Section 30 of the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006, in the interest of public health, according to a press note issued by the Telangana Standards Authority for Food and Essential Drugs (TG SAFE) here on Sunday.

The prohibition covers analogue or non-dairy paneer being manufactured, stored, distributed or sold as “Paneer” or otherwise.

The order was notified in the official gazette as Gazette No. 807 dated September 10, 2026, the press note said.
