Take Welfare Schemes to Every Household: Telangana Dy CM Bhatti to Congress Cadre**

Khammam, Apr 14 (TNT): Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu on Tuesday called upon Congress leaders and workers to ensure that government welfare and development schemes reach every household, asserting that this was key to strengthening the party at the grassroots.

Addressing the oath-taking ceremony of the District Congress Committee (DCC) new executive, Bhatti said the Indian National Congress played a historic role in securing India’s independence and laying the foundation for national development.

Marking the event on the birth anniversary of B. R. Ambedkar, the Deputy Chief Minister urged party members to uphold constitutional values of equality and justice while working in line with the party’s core principles.

He alleged that leaders of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) were spreading misinformation against the state government, claiming they were unable to accept the benefits reaching farmers and weaker sections under the present administration.

Highlighting welfare initiatives, Bhatti said the government has been prioritising farmers through schemes such as Rythu Bharosa, Minimum Support Price and a ₹500 bonus per quintal for paddy.

He added that 3,500 houses per constituency—totalling about 4.5 lakh houses across the state—have been sanctioned with an outlay of ₹22,500 crore.

He said the government is supplying fine rice free of cost to about 1.06 crore families and providing free bus travel for women, resulting in significant financial relief.

He also noted that ₹57,000 crore has already been extended to women’s self-help groups through bank linkage, as part of a larger commitment to provide interest-free loans worth ₹1 lakh crore over five years.

The Deputy Chief Minister further announced that a breakfast programme for 28 lakh students in government schools will be launched from June 2, along with plans to introduce mid-day meals for intermediate students.

He alleged that opposition parties were attempting to mislead the public and spread negativity out of fear that empowerment of the poor would weaken their political relevance.

Urging party cadre to work tirelessly, he said dedication would be recognised while negligence would not be tolerated, and called for continued efforts to retain Khammam as a stronghold of the Congress.

He also appreciated leaders and workers who stood by the party during difficult times and assured that their commitment would be acknowledged.

Reiterating the importance of Ambedkar’s ideals, Bhatti Vikramarka urged party members to carry forward his vision and take the Congress ideology to every household.
