SEMICON India 2026 to bring global semiconductor industry leaders to New Delhi
New Delhi, Sept 14 (UNI): The fifth edition of SEMICON India 2026, the country’s premier semiconductor and electronics conference and exhibition, will be held from September 17 to 19 at Yashobhoomi, India International Convention & Expo Centre, New Delhi.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the event on September 17, marking the beginning of three days of high-level deliberations and industry engagement on India’s expanding semiconductor and electronics ecosystem.
The event, jointly organised by the India Semiconductor Mission (ISM), Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) and SEMI, will bring together global and Indian semiconductor companies, policymakers, investors, researchers, academia, startups and students.
This year’s theme, “Silicon to Systems: Building the Ecosystem,” reflects India’s efforts to expand capabilities across the semiconductor value chain and strengthen its position as a trusted global partner in the sector.
More than 600 exhibitors, including 300 international companies, are expected to participate across 15,000 square metres of exhibition space. The event will feature more than 150 speakers, six country pavilions and 12 State Government pavilions.
A dedicated Startup Pavilion featuring around 40 startups, along with an Innovation Showcase, Startup Pitch Competition, Student Hackathon and Workforce Development Pavilion, will also be part of the exhibition.
The “Sand to Silicon to Systems” Value Chain Experience will showcase India’s capabilities across semiconductor materials and manufacturing, advanced packaging, chip design, electronics and systems.
The conference programme will feature keynote addresses, panel discussions and strategic sessions on semiconductor manufacturing and technology, artificial intelligence, supply-chain resilience, advanced packaging, materials and equipment, chip design, research and development, startups, innovation and talent development.
Six international country roundtables, a session on women empowerment and leadership, a workforce development session and a special session on collaboration among industry associations for India’s ESDM growth will also be held.
Major global and Indian companies, including ASML, Applied Materials, Teradyne, Infineon, Ebara, Jabil, IBM Research, NXP, Tata Electronics, Micron, Merck KGaA, Rapidus, Lam Research, CG Power, Uno Minda, Advantest and Tokyo Electron, are expected to participate.
The event comes as India advances its semiconductor manufacturing ambitions under the Semicon India Programme. The government has approved 12 semiconductor projects, with three projects approved under Semicon 1.0 having commenced commercial production.
The Union Cabinet has also approved Semicon 2.0, with six major pillars aimed at further accelerating the development of the country’s semiconductor ecosystem.
The government has made electronic design automation tools available to more than 400 academic institutions and 105 startups, while 24 startups have been approved under the Design Linked Incentive Scheme to develop semiconductor products and applications.
The global semiconductor market, valued at around USD 796 billion in 2025, is projected to surpass USD 2 trillion by 2030. India’s semiconductor demand, currently estimated at around USD 50 billion, is projected to reach around USD 103 billion by 2030.
SEMICON India 2026 is expected to provide a platform for technology partnerships, investment, innovation, supply-chain linkages and talent development, while supporting India’s efforts to emerge as a global hub for semiconductor and electronics manufacturing.
