SCR suspends TTE over unauthorised decoration of First AC coupe
Hyderabad, July 10 (TNT): South Central Railway (SCR) has suspended a Travelling Ticket Examiner (TTE) for allegedly allowing an unauthorised decorator into a First AC coach of the Nandigram Express to decorate a private coupe for a travelling couple, terming the incident a serious security lapse.
According to SCR, the newlywed couple travelling in the First AC coupe had hired an online decorator to decorate their compartment during the journey on July 6.
The action came after a video of the decorated First AC cabin went viral on social media, showing the private compartment adorned with balloons, floral arrangements, thousands of rose petals and an “I Love You” message.
Railway authorities said the decorator’s entry into the reserved coach was unauthorised and violated security protocols.
A detailed departmental inquiry has been ordered into the incident, and further action will be taken based on its findings, SCR added.
