SCR GM Reviews Secunderabad Division Preparedness After South Coast Railway Reorganisation
Hyderabad, June 3 (TNT): South Central Railway (SCR) General Manager Sanjay Kumar Srivastava on Wednesday reviewed operational preparedness at the Secunderabad Divisional Headquarters following the recent railway reorganisation triggered by the formation of the new South Coast Railway (SCoR) Zone.
During an inspection of the Divisional Control Office at Sanchalan Bhavan, Secunderabad, Srivastava assessed arrangements made to manage the expanded jurisdiction of Secunderabad Division after key sections from Guntakal and Guntur divisions were brought under its control with effect from June 1.
As part of the restructuring, the Wadi–Raichur section and the Pagidipalli–Vishnupuram–Janpahad section were integrated into Secunderabad Division, while the Motumari–Kondapalli section was transferred to Vijayawada Division.
To ensure seamless train operations across the newly added routes, SCR has commissioned two additional Section Control Boards at the Divisional Control Office, taking the total number of control boards to eight.
The new facilities are expected to strengthen monitoring of passenger, express and freight train movements across the expanded network.
The General Manager inspected the newly commissioned control boards and reviewed systems put in place to manage train operations in the integrated sections.
He stressed the need for continuous monitoring, coordination and operational efficiency to maintain safety and punctuality.
Srivastava also inspected the Traction Power Control Room, which monitors power supply and overhead equipment operations for trains, and reviewed the integration of the newly added sections into the power control network.
He later visited the Telecom Test Room responsible for maintaining communication systems across the division.
As part of the visit, the SCR General Manager participated in the SONAR (Staff Orientation and New Administrative Realignment) programme and interacted with officers, supervisors and staff from various departments associated with the newly integrated sections.
Addressing the employees, he described the administrative restructuring as an opportunity for professional growth and assured them that the Railway administration would extend full support during the transition process.
