Telangana CEO asks officials to expedite electoral roll revision, achieve 90% enumeration this week

Hyderabad, July 21 (TNT): Telangana Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) C. Sudharsan Reddy on Tuesday directed district election officials to expedite the Special Intensive Revision (SIR)-2026 of electoral rolls and ensure that more than 90 per cent of the enumeration process is completed by the end of this week.

Reviewing the progress of the exercise through a video conference with the GHMC Commissioner, Hyderabad District Election Officer and District Election Officers across the State, the CEO instructed officials to speed up the digitisation of Enumeration Forms and ensure close monitoring by Electoral Registration Officers (EROs), Assistant Electoral Registration Officers (AEROs), Booth Level Officer (BLO) Supervisors and BLOs.

He directed officials to maintain transparency and proper documentation of meetings held with political parties, focus on urban pockets and Assembly constituencies recording comparatively lower progress, and ensure inclusion of VVIP and VIP electors in the electoral rolls.

The CEO instructed that BLOs should not insist on physical Enumeration Forms from electors who have already submitted them online and should not insist on Aadhaar cards for submission of Enumeration Forms.

He also asked officials to facilitate electors in submitting forms and ensure prompt redressal of grievances.

Sudharsan Reddy directed officials to carefully verify cases of electors marked as Absent, Shifted or Dead (ASD), strengthen field-level monitoring, coordinate with supervisory officers and complete the rationalisation of polling stations within the prescribed timeline.

Reviewing district-wise progress on unmapped electors, polling stations with less than 50 per cent progress and uncollected Enumeration Forms, he instructed District Election Officers to thoroughly verify all “no mapping” electors and take appropriate action wherever required.

The CEO called upon all officials to work in close coordination to ensure the smooth and timely completion of the Special Intensive Revision-2026. Additional CEO Dr. Vasam Venkateswar Reddy, Deputy CEO G.S. Chary, nodal officers and members of the technical team also participated in the review meeting.
