SCR GM inaugurates new facilities at Railway Mixed High School
Hyderabad, Sept 21 (TNT): South Central Railway (SCR) General Manager Sanjay Kumar Srivastava on Monday inaugurated newly developed facilities at the Railway Mixed High School, South Lallaguda, and advised students to make use of them for their overall development.
The facilities inaugurated include Kinder Kart, a children’s garden; Tripti, a common dining space; Deepika House, a cultural and dance space; Jayashree House, a music space; Sushruta, a school health unit; and a renovated auditorium with a seating capacity of around 60 to 80.
Additional General Manager Satya Prakash, Principal Chief Personnel Officer Siddharth Kati, Hyderabad Divisional Railway Manager Santosh Kumar Verma and other senior officials were present.
Speaking on the occasion, Srivastava said today’s students were tomorrow’s citizens and educational institutions played an important role in shaping their future.
He said the Railways had established schools with the vision that education should extend beyond academics.
He advised students to utilise the newly developed facilities for their overall development and bring laurels to the Railways by achieving major milestones.
Established in 1907, Railway Mixed High School, South Lallaguda is one of the major schools on Indian Railways and has been providing education for more than a century.
The school has well-furnished classrooms, a library, computer, biology and physics laboratories, a Tinkering Lab, cultural facilities and sports infrastructure.
The new facilities include spaces for children’s recreation, common dining, Kuchipudi training and Carnatic vocal music, besides a dedicated health and wellness unit established for the first time at the school.
