SCR GM reviews safety of train operations across zone
Hyderabad, Sept 21 (TNT): South Central Railway (SCR) General Manager Sanjay Kumar Srivastava on Monday reviewed the safety of train operations across the zone and directed officials to strictly comply with station working rules and prescribed safety procedures.
The detailed review meeting was held at Rail Nilayam, Secunderabad, with Additional General Manager Satya Prakash and Principal Heads of Departments attending.
Divisional Railway Managers of Secunderabad, Hyderabad and Nanded divisions participated through video conference.
Srivastava directed officials to keep station working rules updated and ensure regular counselling of staff on safe working practices.
He also instructed supervisory staff to create awareness among villagers living near railway stations about preventing cattle from crossing railway tracks.
He said such awareness would help prevent untoward incidents, protect cattle, avoid damage to locomotives and minimise train detentions.
The General Manager stressed close coordination among executive departments while carrying out field works to prevent delays and disruption to train operations.
He also advised officials to nominate train-passing and loco-running staff for periodic medical examinations well before their due dates and ensure that supervisors and field staff are nominated for refresher courses to upgrade their knowledge and working skills.
