Rainbow Children’s Medicare posts 33% revenue growth in Q1 FY27; announces expansion into Mumbai and AP
Hyderabad, July 30(TNT): Rainbow Children’s Medicare Limited (RCML) on Thursday reported a strong performance for the first quarter of FY27, registering broad-based growth across its mature and newly commissioned hospitals.
The leading pediatric and perinatal healthcare network recorded a 33% year-on-year growth in revenue, driven by strong patient demand, operational efficiency and improved performance across its hospital network.
The company reported revenue of ₹4,700 million in Q1 FY27 as against ₹3,529 million in the corresponding period in FY26.
EBITDA stood at ₹1,346 million with a margin of 28.6%, while Profit After Tax increased by 16.2% year-on-year to ₹625 million, the Hyderabad based healthcare said in a release here.
Rainbow said its operational performance remained strong during the quarter, with inpatient admissions increasing by 28%, outpatient consultations by 25% and deliveries by 23% compared to the corresponding period last year.
As part of its expansion strategy, the company has signed definitive agreements for a 100-bed brownfield hospital in Malad, Mumbai, with operations expected to commence in Q1 FY28. The company is also expanding its presence in Andhra Pradesh through the acquisition of a 70-bed children’s hospital in Nellore and a 50-bed hospital in Guntur.
Rainbow’s total capacity increased to 2,435 beds, while operational beds stood at 1,862 during Q1 FY27.
The company recorded 26,886 inpatient discharges, 4.10 lakh outpatient consultations and 4,910 deliveries during the quarter.
The company’s upcoming projects include hospitals in Indore, Coimbatore, Gurugram, Pune and Seegehalli, which are progressing as per schedule.
The Indore facility is expected to begin operations in Q3 FY27, marking Rainbow’s entry into another high-growth market.
Rainbow maintained a strong balance sheet with cash, cash equivalents, fixed deposits and mutual fund investments of ₹6,129 million as of June 30, 2026.
The company invested ₹563 million towards capital expenditure during the quarter to expand and enhance its healthcare services.
Rainbow Children’s Medicare Chairman and Managing Director Dr. Ramesh Kancharla said the company’s performance reflects the strength of its mature and newer hospitals, while the expansion into Mumbai, Nellore and Guntur will help reach more families with specialised healthcare services.
CEO Abarali Dalal said the company’s growth in patient volumes and sustained EBITDA margins demonstrate the strength of its operating model, with continued focus on improving capacity utilisation, operational efficiency and digital transformation.
Rainbow Children’s Medicare operates a network of 24 hospitals and 6 clinics across 9 cities, providing pediatric, neonatal, women’s care, fertility and perinatal healthcare services.
