PM to inaugurate projects worth over Rs 22,000 Cr in Gujarat & Daman on June 5

NEW DELHI, June 4 (TNT): Prime Minister  Narendra Modi will undertake a visit to Gujarat and Daman on Friday , during which he will review key industrial operations in Hazira, inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of major infrastructure and development projects worth Rs 22,000 crore in Surat and Daman, and also announce initiatives for Lakshadweep.

In Gujarat, the Prime Minister will visit Hazira in Surat district at around 2:30 PM to review ongoing industrial and infrastructure activities.

At around 4:15 PM in Surat, he will inaugurate, dedicate to the nation, and lay the foundation stone of development projects worth approximately ₹18,800 crore across road, power, and industrial sectors.

He will also address a public gathering on the occasion.

Key projects in Surat include the dedication of Packages VI and VII of the Vadodara–Mumbai Expressway to enhance regional connectivity and logistics efficiency, along with four-laning works on NH-56 to improve access in tribal regions.

The Prime Minister will also inaugurate a 200-bed ESIC hospital equipped with modern emergency and trauma care facilities.

Several power transmission and industrial infrastructure projects under the Revamped Reforms-Based Distribution Sector Scheme, as well as developments in PCPIR Dahej, Sarigam GIDC, and Jambusar Bulk Drug Park, will also be inaugurated.

In Daman, at around 6:15 PM, the Prime Minister will inaugurate the new terminal building of NAMO Airport and dedicate NAMO Hospital to the nation.

He will also inaugurate, dedicate, and lay the foundation stone of development projects worth around ₹2,970 crore spanning healthcare, aviation, tourism, infrastructure, and connectivity sectors.

Major projects include the Iconic Bridge, Daman Convention Centre, and NIFT Campus, aimed at boosting investment, employment, and tourism in the Union Territory. NAMO Hospital is expected to significantly strengthen healthcare access, catering to approximately 1,500 OPD patients daily.

The Prime Minister will also lay the foundation stone of key maritime infrastructure projects worth around ₹885 crore in Lakshadweep, including the development of port facilities at Kalpeni and Kadmat islands. These projects aim to enhance year-round connectivity, support fisheries and tourism, and improve logistics and livelihood opportunities for island communities.

The initiatives collectively reflect a major push towards infrastructure modernization, regional connectivity, and socio-economic development across western India and island territories.
