Kakinada:JNTUK students advised to explore career opportunities in clean energy
Kakinada, Sept 23 (TNT): JNTUK Vice-Chancellor C.S.R.K. Prasad on Wednesday advised students to develop innovative projects and make use of emerging opportunities in the clean energy sector.
Addressing a special session organised by the University College of Engineering at the Alumni Auditorium here, Prof Prasad said there were considerable opportunities in clean energy development and environmental protection.
He said JNTUK was organising lectures by experts on climate change and the role of clean energy and urged students to make the best use of such sessions.
Dr Venkataramana Putti, Climate Change Group Programme Manager at the World Bank, Washington DC, delivered the keynote address on “Climate Change and the Role of Clean Energy”.
He spoke about the growing challenges posed by climate change across the world and explained the increasing importance of clean energy, carbon finance and sustainable development.
Dr Putti advised students to develop innovative ideas and prepare themselves for careers in international organisations working on environmental issues.
University College of Engineering Principal Dr K. Padmaraju, who presided over the session, said Dr Putti had served several international organisations in the field of clean energy.
