The two companies signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish the JNEXT – JSW NextGen Technology Center, which will function as a key engineering hub for developing technology platforms for new-energy vehicles (NEVs), including electric vehicles, hybrids and plug-in hybrids.

The centre will support the development of AI-powered, connected vehicle technologies aligned with the global shift towards electrified and software-defined mobility.

It will enable close collaboration with JSW Motors’ R&D, manufacturing and leadership teams.

Under the partnership, Tata Elxsi will lead the development of a connected vehicle platform and a unified customer experience application for JSW Motors’ upcoming vehicle programmes, managing the entire lifecycle from design and integration to production and aftersales support.

The collaboration will focus on advanced digital and data-driven capabilities such as cloud platforms, over-the-air (OTA) updates, digital twins, user experience design and cybersecurity.

It will also incorporate technologies including AI/ML analytics, 5G-enabled systems, location-based services and immersive solutions like AR/VR/XR to enhance customer experience.

Speaking on the occasion, JSW Motors CEO Ranjan Nayak said the partnership would help accelerate development timelines and strengthen capabilities in software-defined vehicles, advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) and electrification, while reinforcing the company’s commitment to indigenisation.

Tata Elxsi Managing Director and CEO Manoj Raghavan said the collaboration reflects the shift towards vehicles driven by software, data and intelligent systems, enabling scalable and adaptable mobility platforms.

The partnership will also extend to vehicle diagnostics, performance optimisation, predictive maintenance, testing and validation, along with functional safety and cybersecurity aligned with global automotive standards.
