IntrCity expands mobility hubs, lounges across key intercity markets

New Delhi, Sept 22 (TNT): Tech-enabled intercity mobility platform IntrCity SmartBus on Tuesday announced expansion of its physical infrastructure network with Mobility Hubs and Fresh N Up Lounges aimed at improving boarding, passenger convenience and operational efficiency.

The company currently operates three Mobility Hubs at Anand Vihar in Delhi, Katra in Jammu and Sangamwadi in Maharashtra, along with three Fresh N Up Lounges in Tirupati, Katra and Ujjain.

The facilities complement IntrCity’s network of more than 25 SmartBus Lounges and over 100 boarding partners, which together serve nearly 50 per cent of its customers, the company said.

The Mobility Hubs combine passenger waiting areas and bus bays at organised locations and can accommodate more than 100 passengers at a time.

They are equipped with air-conditioned waiting areas, toilets, internet connectivity, charging points and beverage facilities, besides dedicated resting areas for drivers and Bus Captains.

IntrCity spokesperson Dinesh Rathi said the Mobility Hub initiative was aimed at bringing greater structure to boarding and improving predictability for passengers while supporting operational efficiency and crew wellbeing.

The company plans to expand its Mobility Hub network to key intercity markets including Chennai, Hyderabad and Lucknow, besides emerging markets such as Trichy and Rajahmundry.

The expansion will be based on passenger demand, route density and operational requirements.

The Fresh N Up Lounges in Tirupati, Katra and Ujjain cater primarily to passengers travelling on pilgrimage routes and offer cloak rooms, shower and changing facilities and beverages.

The company said the facilities would enable passengers to freshen up before darshan without having to book hotel rooms, making same-day pilgrimage travel more convenient.

IntrCity said it would evaluate expanding the Fresh N Up Lounge format to other pilgrimage destinations based on passenger demand.

The infrastructure expansion is part of the company’s broader effort to combine technology-enabled operations with physical infrastructure and standardise the intercity travel experience.
