CM Revanth Mortgaging Telangana’s Pride, Failing to Address Public Issues: BJP’s Subhash
Hyderabad, June 13 (TNT: BJP Telangana Chief Spokesperson and Media In-charge N. V. Subhash on Saturday launched a sharp attack on Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, alleging that he has failed to address public issues arising from heavy rains and is attempting to cover up administrative shortcomings by blaming the Centre.
Addressing a press conference at the party’s state headquarters here, Subhash alleged that the Chief Minister had not conducted even a basic review of rain-related problems despite weather warnings and the onset of the monsoon season.
He criticised Revanth Reddy, who also holds the Municipal Administration portfolio, for allegedly neglecting civic issues while making frequent visits to New Delhi.
Subhash accused the Chief Minister of making repeated allegations against Union Ministers G. Kishan Reddy, Bandi Sanjay Kumar and BJP MPs, describing such remarks as baseless.
Referring to recent heavy rains in Hyderabad, the BJP leader alleged that the state government had failed to adequately respond to problems faced by residents of low-lying areas, including waterlogging and power disruptions.
He further claimed that the Chief Minister seeks financial assistance from the Centre while simultaneously accusing the Union government of obstructing Telangana’s development.
Commenting on the recent controversy surrounding Congress leader Meenakshi Natarajan and her rejected Rajya Sabha nomination in Madhya Pradesh, Subhash alleged that the issue stemmed from internal rivalries within the Congress and had no connection with the BJP.
The BJP leader also accused the Congress and BRS of jointly targeting the BJP out of political apprehension over the party’s growing electoral prospects in Telangana.
Taking exception to remarks reportedly made by Revanth Reddy comparing the BJP to North Korean political ideology, Subhash countered by alleging that dynastic politics within the Congress more closely resembled authoritarian structures.
He asserted that the BJP provides opportunities for grassroots workers to rise to top leadership positions, unlike parties driven by family-based politics.
Subhash claimed that Telangana’s people support development-oriented politics and urged the state government to focus on governance and economic growth rather than political criticism.
He said Telangana should actively contribute to the goal of making India a $3 trillion economy and called upon the Chief Minister to work constructively towards the state’s development.
