BJP Will Hoist Its Flag Across Hyderabad, Says Telangana BJP Chief
Hyderabad, June 28 (TNT): Telangana BJP President N. Ramchander Rao on Sunday expressed confidence that the BJP would emerge victorious in the upcoming Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) elections, asserting that the party’s organisational strength at the booth level would ensure its success.
Addressing the Booth Pramukh Sammelan at Nampally, Rao said the large turnout of booth presidents and party workers reflected the BJP’s growing strength in Hyderabad, Cyberabad and Malkajgiri.
He claimed that the BJP would continue to expand its influence in Hyderabad irrespective of whether the BRS, Congress and AIMIM contest separately or join hands.
Launching a sharp attack on the Congress government led by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, Rao alleged that Hyderabad had been turned into a “real estate hub” under the present dispensation.
He also criticised both the Congress and the previous BRS government over the city’s recurring flooding during heavy rains, alleging that neither party had shown genuine commitment to Hyderabad’s development.
The BJP leader accused the Congress, BRS and AIMIM of spreading misinformation against the BJP on the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls.
Referring to claims linking the BJP’s electoral success to the exercise, he questioned such allegations by citing the Congress’ victory in Kerala.
Rao alleged that both the Congress and the BRS were competing to align with the AIMIM, while asserting that the BJP remained committed to the principle of “Nation First” and politics centred on development.
Appealing to the people of Hyderabad to support the BJP in the forthcoming municipal elections, he alleged that the Congress, BRS and AIMIM were encouraging illegal Rohingya voters for electoral gains and called upon citizens to remain vigilant to protect the interests of Hyderabad and Telangana.
He urged party workers to intensify their outreach at the grassroots and expressed confidence that, after the BJP’s performance in the Lok Sabha elections, the party would also secure victory in the upcoming corporator elections in Hyderabad.
