TTD honours 147 meritorious students with Pratibha Puraskaram awards

Tirupati, July 15 (TNT): Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) Chairman B.R. Naidu on Wednesday honoured 147 meritorious students of TTD educational institutions with Pratibha Puraskaram-2026 awards and said the temple body is giving top priority to the development of education and healthcare.

Presenting the awards at Mahathi Kalakshetram here, Naidu said TTD, under the guidance of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, is strengthening its education and healthcare sectors.

He said nearly 20,000 students are studying in 33 TTD educational institutions, where quality education and modern facilities are being provided, and urged students to achieve success through discipline, hard work and values.

TTD Executive Officer Muddada Ravichandra said education is the greatest wealth and encouraged students, particularly those from rural and farming families, to make the best use of the opportunities available in TTD institutions.

He said the institutions are being upgraded on par with corporate educational institutions by providing qualified faculty, modern infrastructure and quality teaching.

TTD Joint Executive Officer A. Sharath said the presentation of the Pratibha Puraskaram awards was a first in TTD’s 150-year history.

He said the temple body is modernising its educational institutions with an investment of ₹162 crore, including digital classrooms, computer laboratories, CCTV systems and other infrastructure.

Board member Panabaka Lakshmi urged students to excel in academics and sports, while board member G. Bhanu Prakash Reddy said TTD had introduced 250 additional seats, a midday meal scheme for day scholars and new academic buildings.

Board member N. Sadashiva Rao said modern facilities are being created through the TTD Vidyadana Trust.

A total of 147 students, including 76 Intermediate students from SV Junior College and Sri Padmavathi Women’s Junior College and 71 students from various TTD schools in Tirupati and Tirumala, received the awards.

Three students of Sri Padmavathi Women’s Junior College—Pranavi, Utpala and Nehashree—were specially felicitated for securing 99 per cent marks at the state level.

Each awardee received a 5-gram silver dollar, a memento, a shawl and a certificate of appreciation.

The programme was attended by TTD board members, senior officials, principals, faculty members and students.
