Telangana facilitates refund of Rs 45.21 Cr to 6,303 Cyber Fraud Victims Through Lok Adalat
Hyderabad, June 21 (TNT): The Telangana Cyber Security Bureau (TGCSB), in coordination with the Telangana State Legal Services Authority (TSLSA), banks, digital payment service providers, police commissionerates and district police units, facilitated the refund of ₹45.21 crore to 6,303 cyber fraud victims through a Lok Adalat held on Saturday..
According to TGCSB, the initiative provided financial relief to thousands of cybercrime victims across the state through an institutionalised victim restitution mechanism.
Among the top-performing units, Cyberabad facilitated refunds to 2,232 victims amounting to ₹21.91 crore, followed by TGCSB with ₹6.83 crore refunded to 77 victims.
Malkajgiri recorded refunds of ₹4.04 crore to 779 victims, Hyderabad facilitated ₹3.22 crore for 755 victims, while Sangareddy secured ₹1.69 crore for 167 victims.
Officials said that since its inception, the TGCSB has facilitated the refund of ₹445.41 crore to 59,953 cybercrime victims through Lok Adalats conducted across Telangana.
The bureau noted that Telangana continues to remain at the forefront of providing financial justice to cybercrime victims through prompt complaint handling, effective coordination with banks, judicial support and efficient use of the Lok Adalat mechanism.
Year-wise recovery figures show a steady increase in restitution efforts, with ₹8.36 crore recovered in 2023, ₹183.9 crore in 2024, ₹182.9 crore in 2025 and ₹70.07 crore recovered so far in 2026 up to June 20.
The TGCSB said its Lok Adalat framework has evolved into a robust system for the speedy return of funds lost in UPI frauds, investment scams, impersonation frauds and other cybercrimes by enabling seamless coordination among law enforcement agencies, the judiciary, banks and field-level officers.
The bureau advised citizens not to share OTPs, PINs, passwords or banking details with unknown persons, avoid clicking suspicious links, and report cyber frauds immediately through the 1930 Cyber Helpline or the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal to improve the chances of recovering lost funds.
TGCSB Director Shikha Goel said the bureau remains committed to strengthening victim-centric recovery systems through technology-driven governance and institutional collaboration to make Telangana a cyber-safe state.
