AP CM Naidu thanks Modi, Gadkari for approving 1,107-Km Kharagpur-Amaravati corridor
Amaravati, Aug 23 (TNT): Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Sunday thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari for approving the 1,107-km Kharagpur-Amaravati greenfield corridor.
In a post on X, Naidu said 457 km of the proposed corridor would pass through Andhra Pradesh and described the project as a landmark initiative that would provide the state direct connectivity with eastern India.
The corridor would help reduce logistics costs for farmers and industries, accelerate Amaravati’s development as a major economic hub and create new opportunities in industry, agriculture, trade and employment, he said.
Naidu said the project would strengthen connectivity between Andhra Pradesh and eastern India and contribute to the state’s economic growth.
According to the details shared by the Chief Minister, the proposed four-lane greenfield highway would have a total length of 1,107 km, with the Andhra Pradesh stretch covering 457 km.
The project is estimated to cost around Rs 32,000 crore, according to the information shared in the post.
