Hyderabad, Mar 18 (TNT): BRS Working President and former Minsiter K. T. Rama Rao (KTR) on Wednesday evening criticised the Congress-led Telangana government during the Assembly Budget session, accusing Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy of failing to address key public commitments.
KTR alleged that the Chief Minister’s speech lacked substance and clarity and did not address the six guarantees promised by the government.
He also criticised the conduct of the Assembly, alleging that the opposition was not given adequate opportunity to respond and that democratic norms were being undermined.
He termed the Chief Minister’s remarks as “undignified” and sought an apology or their removal from official records.
On welfare measures, he questioned the utilisation of government borrowings, stating that despite claims of over ₹3.47 lakh crore in borrowings, benefits had not reached the poor.
He raised concerns over delays in pensions, financial assistance to women and support for farmers.
The BRS leader accused the government of abandoning its six guarantees and described its development narrative of “Cure, Pure, Rare” as “Chor Model” governance.
He also raised concerns over the Musi project, alleging lack of detailed planning and financial clarity, and criticised the government over demolition of structures without adequate rehabilitation.
He said the BRS would continue to raise public issues and hold the government accountable for its promises.
