Telangana CS reviews preparations for BRICS Anti-Corruption Working Group meeting
Hyderabad, July 14 (TNT): Telangana Chief Secretary Sanjay Jaju on Tuesday reviewed arrangements for the 2nd BRICS Anti-Corruption Working Group (ACWG) Meeting, scheduled to be held in Hyderabad on August 4 and 5, and directed officials to ensure seamless coordination for the successful conduct of the international event.
The meeting, held at the Secretariat, was attended by senior state government officials and representatives of the Government of India.
Around 40 delegates from the 11 BRICS member countries and nearly 40 senior officials from the Centre are expected to participate in the deliberations.
During the review, Joint Secretary, Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT), Government of India, Sushil Kumar Patel, briefed officials on the event and sought the state’s support for security, protocol, accommodation, transportation, sanitation, medical services, venue management and other logistical arrangements.
Jaju directed the departments concerned to ensure foolproof security, efficient traffic management, high standards of sanitation and cleanliness, adequate healthcare facilities, uninterrupted civic services and close inter-departmental coordination.
He also asked officials to work in coordination with the Centre and complete all arrangements well before the event.
Stating that Hyderabad has established itself as a preferred venue for major international conferences, the Chief Secretary said every effort should be made to uphold the city’s reputation by ensuring smooth conduct of the BRICS meeting.
He assured full support from the Telangana government for the successful organisation of the event.
