45 Motocycles seized in cordon and search operations in Kakinada, Tuni
Kakinada, Aug 16 (TNT): Kakinada city police seized 30 motorcycles for lack of valid documents during a cordon and search operation conducted at Paradesammapeta under the Kakinada One Town police station limits in the early hours of Sunday.
The operation was conducted under the instructions of District SP Bindu Madhav and Additional SP Dr Mahanti Kishore Kumar.
Inspectors M Nagadurgarao of Kakinada One Town, P Sunil Kumar of Port police station, Ch Prakash of Sarpavaram police station and KVS Satyanarayana of Three Town police station, along with Eagle team personnel and special police party members, participated in the operation.
During the search, police seized 30 motorcycles for not having valid documents. The teams also interacted with known rowdy-sheeters and suspects and counselled them against involvement in anti-social activities.
Police conducted an awareness programme for local youth on the harmful effects of drugs, ganja and other narcotic substances.
The police and Eagle teams also administered an oath to the youth to work towards making the State ganja-free.
Police appealed to residents to inform them by dialling 1972 if they came across ganja sale, transportation or smuggling in their areas.
Meanwhile, Tuni town and rural police conducted a similar cordon and search operation at Talluru village in Tuni mandal and seized 15 motorcycles for lack of proper records. Rowdy-sheeters were warned of stringent action if found involved in anti-social activities.
Tuni Town Circle Inspector Chenna Kesava, Rural Circle Inspector Krishnamachary and Town Sub-Inspector Vijay Babu led the operation.
