AP: National Seminar on AUTISM held at ASRHMC in Tadepalligudem
Tadepalligudem, Aug 16 (TNT): ASR Homoeopathic Medical College and Hospital (ASRHMC) in association with Alisha Academy, organised a one-day national seminar on “Beyond the Spectrum – Homoeopathy’s Answer to Autism” here on Sunday.
Around 260 delegates, including faculty, homoeopathic practitioners, interns and students from across the country, participated in the seminar conducted in hybrid mode.
The seminar focused on the scope of individualised homoeopathic care in autism spectrum disorder (ASD).
The organisers showcased documented clinical cases and video presentations of children who reportedly showed improvement in speech, behaviour, eye contact and social interaction following homoeopathic treatment.
Delivering his keynote address, Prof. Dr. Samir Chaukkar, International Teacher and Dean of Dr. Batra’s Academy, Mumbai, shared his experience in dealing with autism cases.
He stressed the importance of understanding the individual child beyond the diagnostic label.
Prof. Dr. G. Chandra Sekhara Rao, eminent international teacher and academician, spoke on “Child Psychiatry and Homoeopathy” and explained the psychiatric and developmental aspects of autism and childhood behavioural disorders.
Prof. Dr. Ananda Kumar Pingali, Principal, ASRHMC, spoke on “Understanding Autism through the Boenninghausen Approach”, while Prof. Dr. Ananda Rao Sanapala explained the clinical features of autism and the importance of early identification.
Twenty-five participants presented research papers covering their original work, research and clinical experiences during the seminar.
Dr. Kolli Raju, President, Indian Institute of Homoeopathic Physicians, Tamil Nadu and Chennai, and Dr. B. Vijaya Lakshmi, Medical Superintendent, Government Area Hospital, Tadepalligudem, were felicitated on the occasion.
The Dr. Hahnemann Award for Clinical Excellence was conferred on Prof. Dr. Samir Chaukkar, while the Dr. Hahnemann Award for Academic Excellence was presented to Prof. Dr. G. Chandra Sekhara Rao.
Winners of the reel competition “Story Today, Impact Tomorrow” were also felicitated and certificates were distributed to the paper presenters.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Dr. Ananda Kumar Pingali said the seminar reflected the institution’s commitment to strengthening homoeopathic education and promoting academic discussion on autism and its management.
