Vedanta Power strengthens focus on young talent, onboards 54 campus hires
New Delhi, Sept 22 (TNT): Vedanta Power said 56 per cent of its workforce is below the age of 35 as the company focuses on developing young talent for the evolving power sector.
The company recently onboarded 54 campus hires, of whom 57 per cent are women.
The recruits are from premier institutes across India and include professionals in engineering, technical functions, human resources, communications, finance, commercial, ESG and CSR.
Vedanta Power CEO Rajinder Singh Ahuja said the company’s talent strategy focuses on combining functional expertise with exposure to business operations, leadership guidance and opportunities for early responsibility.
As part of its talent development programme, the company conducted AAROHAN – The Rise of Power, a four-day structured induction programme for young professionals.
The programme included interactions with senior leadership and department heads, business sessions, functional learning and operational exposure.
Participants also visited a plant to gain firsthand exposure to power generation processes, technologies and operations.
The company said the programme was aimed at providing young professionals with a broader understanding of the power sector and the interconnected functions supporting its operations.
Vedanta Power said its talent strategy focuses on campus hiring, structured learning, leadership engagement, cross-functional development and early ownership to prepare young professionals for changing requirements in the power sector.
The company said technological advances, evolving energy requirements and increasingly complex power systems were creating demand for professionals with technical capabilities, business understanding and adaptability.
