Union Minister Kishan Reddy urges youth to contribute to Viksit Bharat goal
Hyderabad, Sept 19 (TNT): Union Coal and Mines Minister G Kishan Reddy on Saturday called upon the youth to play a key role in achieving Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of transforming India into a Viksit Bharat by 2047.
Addressing the 20th Rozgar Mela organised by the Income Tax Department at Madhapur here, Reddy distributed appointment letters to 360 newly selected candidates for various posts in different Central government organisations.
The Union government organised the 20th Rozgar Mela simultaneously at 45 locations across the country, distributing appointment letters to more than 51,000 candidates.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the programme through video conferencing.
Reddy said nearly 13 lakh youth had been provided employment opportunities in government services through 20 editions of the Rozgar Mela.
The government was not only providing employment opportunities in the public sector but also promoting job creation across various sectors, he said, adding that India had emerged as an investment destination and was among the leading countries in terms of the number of startups.
He urged the youth to move beyond being job seekers and focus on becoming job creators, highlighting Artificial Intelligence, robotics, semiconductors, cyber security, drone technology, 3D printing and green energy as emerging sectors with significant employment potential.
India had immense opportunities in skilled and talented human resources and startups, Reddy said, urging the youth to utilise these strengths to attract investments and industries and create more employment opportunities.
Addressing the newly appointed candidates, the Union Minister urged them to discharge their duties with commitment and a sense of responsibility towards the Viksit Bharat goal.
He advised them to continue learning and acquire knowledge of emerging technologies and new skills even after securing government employment.
A government job was not merely a source of job security but also carried the responsibility of serving people, Reddy said. He urged the newly recruited employees to remember their parents, native places and educational institutions and work towards the welfare of the poor and development of the country.
Principal Chief Commissioner of Income Tax, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, Suresh Bathini, DG (Investigation), Income Tax Department, Rajarshi Dwivedi, Chief Commissioner of Income Tax, Hyderabad, Sunita Bella, and other officials attended the programme.
