Union Minister Bandi Sanjay inaugurates Rozgar Mela, distributes appointment letters to 221 candidates
Hyderabad, Sept 19 (TNT): Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay Kumar on Saturday inaugurated the 20th Rozgar Mela organised by the Central Tax and Customs, Hyderabad Zone, at Dr MCR HRD Institute, Jubilee Hills, and distributed appointment letters to 221 candidates.
Addressing the programme, Bandi Sanjay said the Rozgar Mela was being organised simultaneously at 45 locations across the country, with around 51,000 appointment letters being distributed.
He said the initiative reflected Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s commitment to providing 10 lakh jobs in the Central government and noted that more than 12.75 lakh appointment letters had been issued through the first 19 editions of the Rozgar Mela.
The Union Minister said the government was working towards building a Viksit Bharat by 2047 and had undertaken initiatives such as Startup India and Make in India, besides various welfare programmes, to create new opportunities and support employment for youth.
Congratulating the newly appointed candidates, Bandi Sanjay said securing a Central government job was an important milestone for them and their families and urged them to discharge their duties with dedication and contribute to nation-building.
Chief Commissioner, Central Tax and Customs, Hyderabad Zone, Arun Kumar, IRS, said the induction of young employees would bring new ideas and energy to government services.
He said the 221 recruits would undergo training at the National Academy of Customs, Indirect Taxes and Narcotics (NACIN), Hyderabad, covering GST, Customs, relevant laws, office procedures and practical work. Inspectors would also receive specialised firearms training in coordination with the Telangana Police Academy.
Arun Kumar urged the recruits to follow the principle of “Citizen First, Taxpayer First, Nation First” and perform their duties with sincerity and dedication.
Their field-level work would contribute to effective implementation of government policies and the goal of a developed India by 2047, he said.
Principal Commissioner, Hyderabad GST Commissionerate, N J Kumaresh, IRS, senior departmental officials and family members of the newly appointed candidates attended the programme.
