TTD Refutes Reports of Security Lapse at Nagalapuram Temple

Tirupati, May 3 (TNT): The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) on Sunday dismissed as false reports circulating on social media alleging a security lapse at the Sri Veda Narayana Swamy Temple in Nagalapuram of Tirupati district.

Clarifying the incident, TTD officials said that during a visit by a local MLA for darshan, his personal gunman attempted to enter the temple carrying a firearm, which is against established regulations.

The temple security personnel immediately objected and instructed the gunman not to proceed.

However, the individual did not comply with the directions. While escorting the MLA, security staff made efforts to stop the gunman, but he managed to reach the Ashirvada Mandapam before exiting the temple along with the MLA.

TTD officials stated that the rules were clearly explained to the gunman, but he violated the prescribed norms.

The matter has since been reported to the district police authorities for necessary action.

Reiterating its commitment to strict security protocols, TTD clarified that there was no lapse on the part of its personnel.
